Role: Principal Architect

Bio:Atmospheric Perspective is a boutique architecture studio designing community focused places and spaces. We practice at the intersection of aspiration and experience, creating designs that manifest our clients values through an innovative co-creation process. Based in Vancouver, Canada, on the unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, AP works with institutions, municipalities, not-for-profits and First Nations across BC offering end to end architectural design services across a variety of scales, as well as forward thinking urban design and placemaking.

Andrew founded AP in 2022 building on 10 years of practicing architecture across Canada.  Andrew approaches each project with the same curiosity and rigor, working as a team leader to codiscover and deliver each project’s goals and aspirations

Areas of Interest:

  • Community led design

  • Architecture and the architectural design process as a means to foster community

  • Architectural design for cultural institutions, not-for-profits, municipalities and First Nations

  • Urban design and placemaking to support creative lifestyles

  • Fostering a sense of place through site specific and cutlurally relevant design

Things you want to learn:

  • How we as architects can support the evolution of arts and cultural spaces towards multi-functional and flexible community infrastructures.

Things I want changed in the sector:

  • Breaking down of the silos between different types of community spaces (and funding models!) to support artists and creative people to engage the public in increasingly creative ways
